About Presence Switzerland
Presence Switzerland is an office of the federal administration and as a unit it is part of the General Secretariat of the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
Presence Switzerland is responsible for implementing the Federal Council's strategy on Switzerland's communication abroad.

Organisation
Presence Switzerland was founded on 1 January 2001 in the form of a decentralised administrative unit with an extra-parliamentary committee. It was fully integrated into the FDFA on 1 January 2009.
Worldwide network
Presence Switzerland carries out the tasks allotted to it by law in close collaboration with Switzerland's diplomatic and consular representations abroad.
Partners
Presence Switzerland works with a variety of organisations within the federal administration as well as third parties in the field of communication abroad, as well as with Swiss companies.
Budget
At present, Presence Switzerland has a annual budget of CHF 9.24 million (April 2010), of which CHF 1 million is earmarked for funding the Swiss Pavilion at the Shanghai World Exhibition in 2010.
According to federal legislation, participation in world exhibitions and Olympic Games is funded from a separate budget.
Staff
Presence Switzerland has 30 collaborators, of whom 21 are on fixed contracts and 9 have temporary full-time or part-time contracts. In addition, the organisation always has one apprentice and is offering internships.
